Psycho-Educational Evaluation: Extensive individual diagnostic testing is designed to determine the present level of functioning of the student and to systematically plan for any educational needs. Testing is administered over two separate sessions and followed by a parent conference and a written report that includes very specific recommendations that are tailored to the individual student.

  • One-to-One tutorial sessions in reading/spelling, written language, reading comprehension & basic math (K-4) are designed to improve the student’s skills and knowledge. Although this tutorial work is primarily remedial in nature, interaction with the child’s teacher is usually suggested. Periodically, parent conferences and written evaluations are scheduled to assess progress and identify continuing needs.
  • One-to-one coaching on homework completion and study and organizational skills is carefully planned to help the student gain confidence and increasing independence in completing assignments successfully.
  • Small group tutorial work in written language is planned to provide state-of-the-art assistance in developing pre-writing, writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Both the process of writing and the written product are addressed. When matched with other students with the same skill levels, tutoring in definitely enhanced. Students will work on laptops and use appropriate programs to aid in pre-writing activities.
